Swapping Cultures is a proven,
flexible programme of leadership development activities which
can be used for many different purposes. Current programmes
focus on: community cohesion, prejudice reduction, inter-faith
cooperation, conflict reduction and active global citizenship.
The purpose of this interim report is to put into the public arena information on the project, to inform discussion and to provide statutory and voluntary partner agencies with an account of progress to date.

The Swapping Cultures initiative encourages and creates an opportunity for integration and networking between young people and their communities with other people they would not normally come into contact with.
The consultation is a Warwickshire Police initiative aimed at developing and improving community relations (particularly within Black and Minority Ethnic communities in Coventry and Warwickshire) and furthermore to increase the number of Policemen/women from the Black and minority ethnic communities in line with the national race and equality strategy
The focus of this report was to investigate the use of substances in BME communities particularly of African refugees and asylum seekers in Coventry and to explore the views, attitudes and experiences of users, their families and friends.
MoE is grateful to the 6th Form teachers & pupils who agreed to trial the Swapping Cultures model 'from words and ideas into real action'. The Trial could not have succeeded without the active & enthusiastic support of Head/Deputy, Teachers, Connexions Service staff and the students themselves
The Swapping Cultures workshop was launched at a half-day conference at the Queens Road Community Centre, Walthamstow on 31st January 2006. In total 7 schools participated in the workshop.
This research is part of the New Deal for Communities Government programme, which seeks to develop a co-ordinated approach to various social issues by bringing together local people, community and voluntary organisations, public agencies, local authorities and businesses
